jQuery or MooTools… you decide!
So you'd like a fancy slideshow or bouncy navigation for your website but dont want compromise on usability or valuable content by using Flash? Look no further than two great extensible and modular frameworks also known as jQuery and MooTools.
If you've never heard of either of these, they are basically a clean, user friendly substitute to Flash animation and a funky way of creating a unique user experience on your website.
2 great examples of what Im prattling on about are linked below:
- A fancy navigation using jQuery: Click here
- A cool product slider using MooTools: Click here
But which do you choose? Well both offer very similar functions such as previously mentioned (fancy slideshows, bouncy navigations and more endless options!...). I personally have been using jQuery for well over a year and had become accustomed to its charm, but as of recent a few fancy elements from MooTools had caught my eye and intrigued me to begin using it instead... and after a few laps of the circuit decided that it was a mean rival to jQuery! But I'm the kind of guy who likes to have my cake and eat it, why choose one when you could both :P The great thing about choosing to work with both frameworks instead of casting one aside like an unwanted gift is that it offers more to the end user, in which 99.9% of the time are our clients. To see some examples of our use in implementing jQuery and MooTools, have a look around our clients websites, failing that just contact us to see how we could 'Jazz' up your website!
